My 4-year-old has been building the gate and tower setup for his knight and horse every morning before preschool. The wooden pieces are chunky enough that they don't topple when he bumps the table, which is saying a lot.
The little wooden knight and horse have survived hours of siege play already, and the gates still swing smoothly. I like that the pieces are chunky enough for small hands but detailed enough that my five-year-old keeps inventing new tower layouts.
The turrets actually rotate, which my four-year-old figured out before I did. All the pieces are sanded smooth with no rough edges, and even the little horse has held up to daily castle sieges.
